Victory is Sweet

The Dolphins played the Giants today, and although the Giants were big, tough and persistent, the Dolphins came out on top, 24-14.
The game saw four interceptions, two on each side. Ethan pulled one down in the end zone to prevent a Giants touchdown and Sean, who seemed to have even more Stickum on his hands than last week, hauled in another.
That's the team mugging Ethan after his interception in the end zone. He's in there somewhere.

That's Kees scoring his first touchdown of the season on a quarterback sneak to put the game out of reach for the Giants. He also hauled in a nice pass from Peter, who looked like a pro.

This week there are more good photos than you can shake a stick at. Great blocking and tackling by everyone. The Dolphins are certainly getting better (and maybe the photographer is shaking out some of the cobwebs too).

Final game of the season is next week, and the week after that, the coaches will play each other.

Above are three shots of Ethan making his interception and trying to take it out of the end zone.

AJ tried to take one around the corner.

Kees ran into some traffic on a run. Note Ethan on the left giving one of the Giants a good old-fashioned mugging.

Here's Kees taking off after he caught one from Peter.

Jack takes the ball for a run with support from Luke and Tommy.

It doesn't look good for Peter on this extra point play, but...

...he finds the tiniest seam...

...spins into the end zone...

...and accepts a high five from AJ.

Tommy took the ball upfield. Unfortunately his flag fell off before he got tackled or it would have been a big gain.

Kees strips one of the Giants of his flags on an early play.

Ryan provides some blocking for Jack (behind Ryan).

Peter launches a bomb to Sean under the watchful eye of Coach Tony.

Sean strikes a Heisman pose after dancing into the end zone with an interception.

A thing of beauty

Although the Dolphins lost to the 49ers, some beautiful plays were made and the score was close. Only two extra point plays kept the Dolphins from tying the game.

Ethan had a textbook touchdown run that was a thing of beauty, Sean seemed to have Stickum on his hands, AJ and others lobbed some bombs, and the rest of the team blocked, tackled and ran with the best of them.

Finally, Johnny Lizotte proved that you never give up by hunting down a 49er on the final play and preventing a TD.

NOTE: If you go the absolute bottom of the blog and click on the slideshow (it looks messed up, but if you click on it, it will launch), then set the time to 1 second by clicking on the minus (-) symbol, you can see all the photos in the blog and you can catch Ethan's TD run in a moving sequence, which is kind of fun.

Look of a winner

It all came together against the Jets. As good as they were, the Dolphins were just a little better. It all started on the second play when AJ took a terrific pass into the end zone. Even the fathers of the Jets were impressed.

There were a lot of big plays, so I'm posting a ton of photos. More later.

Those Slippery Steelers

Here are some photos from Saturday's game against the Steelers. They worked in some good runs.

The Lizotte brothers were all over the place. Here one of them glides into the end zone.

Practice should be at 6 pm on Wednesday.
